The whole building should be fumigated for pests.
You can get a cockroach spray at the supermarket - spray it around your apartment and see if that gets rid of them!

well you should definately get you & your baby out of the apartment and go stay at your moms house for a couple nights. then call an exterminator and they can probably get rid of them.

Check the terms of your lease. Your landlord may be responsible for pest control. If so, you should call and request they do something about the bugs. Even if it is not in the lease, try calling them anyway.

If not, you would have to move to get away from them. They live in the whole building, so anything you do to just your apartment isn't going to get rid of them. If the landlord won't fix it, you probably have to move.

Roaches are dirty. They carry germs and disease. They don't bite or do anything to directly harm your baby, but they are dirty and if your apartment has them, the apartment is going to be dirty, too.

Cockroaches are filthy disgusting creatures. You need to get rid of them or move. Go to your apartment complex office and tell them that the place has roaches and you have a baby. They HAVE to get rid of them... This might involve spacing your apartment however (gassing it) and that is VERY bad for baby's. If this is the case you are going to have to go stay with a friend for at LEAST 2 weeks to let the place air out.
I would just move if at all possible. The bug spray you are probably using is also VERY bad for baby, and can stay in a room you sprayed it in for hours after you use it.
I know its probably expensive but you have to start considering just moving the heck outta there... for your child's health.
My son came down with Valley Fever when he was only a month old and we were living in Phoenix AZ. There is no cure to Valley Fever accept to leave the state, because it is a fungus that is in the air in AZ. We uprooted our little family withing a month and we DID have to dig ourselves into a bit of debt, but in the end my son is now happy and healthy. Its all worth it in the end.

Good luck

I would suggest moving because it is very difficult to get rid of a cockroach infestation. Especially if they are coming from another apartment in the building. Roaches are very dirty and so are their droppings. My old apartment had cockroaches coming from our neighbors apartment. Our landlord had that place fumigated 4 or 5 times and it never worked. We moved as soon as we found out i was pregnant.

You can spray all you want, but theres no getting rid of them.

Theres a reason why they're so resilient.

Move. Because once you see one, you just know theres hundreds more.

Cockroaches harbor dieases. They fecal matter could spread infection. Call the apartment manager, tell them to redo pest control because you saw them in the babies crib. Then call the apartments general manager, tell them about the cockroach infestation. Let them know your going to your local health department to report the problem to them because your worried about your babies health.

Make sure to wash all crib bedding! You cant put the baby into the crib until you do that.
