You can easily disassemble the mouse and clean out the dirt with some canned air. If you simply want to check the settings, go to start>control panel>Mouse and you can adjust the sensitivity there. My recommendation if you don't want to buy a new mouse, is to take apart your current mouse and clean it. Obviously you will want to disconnect it from your PC first and let it dry out if you use anything liquid to clean with.
